![]() ![]() It's really a great place for a special dinner or a nice spot to take out of towners to wow them.DINING in New York City is a priceless experience. ![]() They also brought out these little chocolate truffles with a candle for X when I told them we were celebrating his birthday early with his mom. For dessert, we split the bombolini that came with 3 different dipping sauces. For my main, I had the Amish chicken and it was so moist and juicy. I had the tuna tartare appetizer and it was fab. We were already on the D train, so I asked if we could come back the next day to pick it up and they were happy to hold it. I also left a bag at the table and they called me to let me know about it about 10 minutes after we had left. They were super helpful and accommodating on the phone and tried their best to get me a window table. But our plans changed and I had to move our dinner to the next day. I originally had reservations at Robert on Father's Day and had even called them to secure a window table during prime dining time. The view by the window is absolutely amazing. My friend had had a work lunch at Robert and recommended it to me as a solid restaurant to take out of towners to. I had a Light and Breezy, which was very refreshing. I would revisit this restaurant for their appetizers, drinks, and stunning view of Columbus Circle. The opera cake was probably the best of the 3. The panna cotta tasted grainy and did not have a smooth texture as I would expect from this type of dessert. They were pretty to look at, but not the best in terms of taste. We ordered a variety of desserts to share as well. ![]() Overall the dishes were nicely prepared and beautifully presented. The lobster pasta was supposed to be served with a spicy red sauce but it was not remotely spicy, maybe a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the spiciest. Of the 3, my favorite was the shrimp dish. We ordered 3 entrees to share: the shrimp with crab meat, dorade (fish), and squid ink pasta with lobster. They were delicious! The especially loved the avocado cups because they were so refreshing! The octopus was very tender and perfectly seasoned. The appetizers and entrees were phenomenal! We ordered the grilled octopus and 2 orders of the avocado cups to share. It's very colorful, but not in a loud way. It is beautifully decorated with contemporary art and has a very artsy vibe. The restaurant occupies the 5th floor of this building. If it weren't for one of the doctors I work with recommending this restaurant, I would have never guessed that such an upscale restaurant was located inside the Museum of Art and Design. I'd say come for the views, a drink and a small bite. Also, the coconut tres leches meringue cake was just ok. They gave us a complimentary dessert, that was far too sweet. He didn't want to say anything, but we ended up telling the server and they remade the steak for us - the second time around, it was cooked a little better, but there were parts that were still well done.įor the cost of a steak, I expect that they would get the temperature right, and while they did try, a second time around, it wasn't entirely edible (what a shame). ![]() As for our mains, while I did enjoy the squid ink lobster pasta, my partner's steak was very overcooked. I liked the tuna tartare, but thought it was a little chunkier than usual (the bits of tuna), and we also ordered a simple salad that was fine. We started with the complimentary amuse bouche, which was delicious. The service is excellent, but I have to say, the food was good, but not great, especially for the price point. This is definitely a spot to go on a special occasion, to soak in the spectacular view (snap a pic or two, while the sun is still out!) and cozy ambiance of the space. ![]()
